How Directory Certified Works
Directory Certified is an editorial review program designed to help property owners identify restoration companies with complete, current, and well-supported business information. Certification is based on documented facts and review criteria rather than payment alone.
Paying for an enhanced listing does not guarantee certification. A company must satisfy the applicable requirements, provide supporting information, and complete editorial review before the Directory Certified badge may be displayed.
Business Identity
The company’s name, address, phone number, website, ownership information, and primary service area must be reviewed for consistency.
Operating History
The directory reviews the company’s stated operating history and supporting information. Directory Certified companies should generally have at least two years of operating history unless an exception is documented and approved.
Service Capabilities
The company must provide clear information about the restoration services it performs, the property types it serves, its emergency availability, and any specialized capabilities it promotes.
Credentials and Qualifications
Professional certifications, licenses, memberships, and training displayed as verified must be supported by appropriate evidence. Unverified credentials may not be presented as confirmed.
Reputation Information
When reputation information is displayed, it must come from an approved and clearly attributed source. Ratings, review counts, and review themes must include a source and date last checked.
Local Experience
The company must provide meaningful information about the communities it serves, the types of property losses it handles, and its experience in the local market.
Project Evidence
Recent project documentation may be used to demonstrate real experience, including the service performed, location, cause of damage, work completed, timeline, and approved photographs.
Editorial Review
Certified profiles are reviewed for accuracy, completeness, unsupported claims, duplicated content, source transparency, and consumer usefulness.
Ongoing Verification
Certified information may require periodic review. Expired credentials, stale review data, ownership changes, inaccurate contact information, or unresolved concerns may result in suspension or expiration.
What Certification Does Not Mean
Directory Certified status does not guarantee future performance, availability, pricing, insurance coverage, workmanship, or results. The Restoration Directory does not act as the restoration contractor and property owners remain responsible for evaluating and hiring a company.
Corrections
Companies and consumers may submit corrections or supporting information through the directory’s approved contact process.
