Privacy policy
The Restoration Directory is owned and operated by Justified Media. This page describes the information the directory actually handles. It covers visitors browsing listings, business owners with an account, and companies that appear in the directory.
Browsing without an account
You can browse states, counties, cities, search results and company pages without creating an account. Ordinary web-server request records are produced when you load a page — the requested address, timestamp, browser user agent and network address — and are used to operate and secure the site. Justified Media is the operator responsible for that processing.
Information you provide
- Account details. Email address and a password, or a sign-in link sent to your email address.
- Listing submissions and claims. The business information you submit, plus what you tell the directory about your relationship to the business so ownership can be verified.
- Profile content. Company details, service information, service areas, links and images you upload for a listing.
- Correspondence. Corrections, support requests and other messages you send.
Do not send information you do not want published. Company profile content is intended for public display; account credentials and verification notes are not.
Why the information is used
- To operate the directory and publish company listings
- To create accounts, sign you in, and control access to a company workspace
- To verify a claim of ownership before granting access to a listing
- To send transactional email such as sign-in links, invitations and notifications
- To take payment for Directory Certified membership
- To investigate corrections, abuse and security problems
The directory does not sell personal information, and it does not send marketing email to people who have not asked for it.
Service providers
The directory runs on third-party infrastructure and cannot function without it. Those providers process information only to deliver their service:
- Application hosting and content delivery
- The managed database, file storage and authentication platform
- The email delivery provider used for transactional messages
- Stripe, for Directory Certified payments. Card details are entered inside Stripe's own checkout and never reach this application.
Cookies and local storage
Sign-in uses a session stored in your browser so you stay authenticated between pages. Browser storage is also used to remember short-lived choices during a signup or claim flow. There is no advertising tracking on this site.
How long information is kept
Published company information is kept for as long as the listing exists, because it is directory content. Account records, verification notes and ownership history are kept while the account or listing is active and afterwards where a record is needed to show why access was granted or removed. Payment records are retained by Stripe under its own terms.
Your requests
You can ask for a copy of the personal information held about you, ask for a correction, or ask for your account to be closed and your personal details removed. Email support@therestorationdirectory.com. Closing an account does not automatically remove a company listing, which may remain as publicly researched directory content; ask separately if you want a listing reviewed.
Children
The directory is a business-to-business and homeowner research tool. It is not directed at children and accounts are intended for adults acting for a business.
